The article mentions the use of Poljot movements in Sekonda watches. In the 1970s up to the end of the USSR Sekonda rebranded USSR watches and sold them very cheaply in the UK.

If you search “vintage Sekonda” on eBay there are some terrific value watches. I got a Sekonda for my 15th birthday in 1973 and found the same model last year on eBay in great condition.

Sekonda are still going strong in the UK but today they just sell low priced quartz watches.

Yeah, I could see what you were talking about. Are you able to find and post a pic of the 1973 watch?

Thanks for posting that. In a vacuum, I wouldn't necessarily purchase that watch. But yes, Sekonda and Poljot are the nicest looking Soviet watches. Some actual design and flair.

Ocean and Shturmanskie, especially the latter, are somewhere on my bucket list. This the Poljot I have of unknown vintage, not even sure if it's legit. It has a cool70's vibe, auto with date and cost me peanuts...
